HairFlair

My family and I are picky. Have you noticed? We have a lot of tick boxes that need to be checked off before we give our approval. I'm super excited to tell everyone all about...

Green People

I have 4 children. They all have their own skin weirdness. Some are chemically sensitive, some have dermatographic hives, some have eczema...seeing a pattern here? Pure weirdness. It got so bad when we first started figuring out what was going on, that I started making our own shampoo. That can get old real quick as life gets busy. That's why I've been so relieved to find this brand.

Pro's:

~ Certified organic ingredients
~ Paraben Free
~Fairly traded ingredients
~ SLS and SLES free
~Vegan

Ingredients I love:

~Coconut based foaming and thickening agents. Such a great natural way to cleanse and nourish the hair without irritating the skin.
~Essential oils, plant extracts and aloe powder. Every oil in here is a great one. Rosemary has anti-fungal properties, antibacterial properties and is great for thickening hair. Lavender is a fantastic cleansing, soothing and antibacterial agent. Pineapple and aloe are anti-inflammatory and very soothing.
What's not to love about that?

Con's:

~The price. I won't complain too much. I found the shampoo for £9.70 and the conditioner for £9.68. I've spent way more money on shampoo and conditioner before. However, I'd love it if this product could find a way to be a bit more cheap and cheerful to make it more accessible to a wider audience. (And let's just be honest, easier on my wallet.)

~The shampoo advertises a little goes a long way with the lather. I live in a really hard water area and have rather short hair. I find I have to use more than I normally would to wash my hair but again, I'm alright with that. I know that I'm using a product that I can stand behind and not have to worry about what kind of environmental toxins I or my kids are absorbing.

This is not a sponsored post. I just wanted to share the goodness of a product I've really enjoyed. If you have any shampoos or conditioners for sensitive and delicate skins, I'd love to hear all about them.

  4. This product sounds like something I would like. Maybe when I'm in Europe, I'll pick some up. This is on a side note, but I really want to pick up some Sleek cosmetics.

Anyway, back to your post. The cons aren't too bad. It sounds like it's still a good product. Will you be continuing to use it or are you on to something else?

  5. I'm going to continue using it for now. I haven't found anything else that ticks all my boxes so there's nothing new to try at the moment. I've been ordering it online from the Ethical Superstore which I linked to at the bottom of the post. I'm loving the wide range of products they have for every portion of life.

  7. They do! They have sun lotions, after sun lotions, deoderants and toothpaste! I just ordered my first toothpaste with them to see if it's a good fit for us.

  8. I'll have to keep my eyes open for these. Do they sell in the US?

  9. That was an interesting question so I dug into it. They don't currently ship to the U.S. due to some sort of liability insurance business. Such a shame since I really am loving their products and I think they would do really well in the States.
