The Avengers

This was me doing my little fan girl Justin Beiber type scream on my way to see The Avengers. And then that's me, after I saw it. I love this film so much I'd sit through it again and again and I don't do that. It was awesome people. Awe-some! It carries you on an epic emotional journey with tons of eye candy, adrenaline, funny stuff, "awww" sappy inducing moments, action and above all I left the theater wanting to be an Avenger. That's when you know a super hero movie has been done right.

Fan Girl Movie Rating: 10 out of 10

How about you? Are you going to go see the most awesome, amazing movie of 2012 so far?

  1. Ugh, you're making me feel like I need to see it. I haaaate Scarlett Joh-owever-you-spell-it and I vowed to never watch anything with her in it except for Ghost World. No one has disliked this movie, though, and it's making it so hard!

  3. I'm not the biggest Scar-Jo fan out there either. I was seriously weary of whatever role she was going to play in the film. Joss Whedon managed to use her really well. She even managed to be funny at one point. I would definitely definitely DEFINITELY make an exception and agree to view the film with guarded pessimism. You can't go wrong with that :D

  4. Thank you! I find the key to great art is to never take ones self too seriously :D

Even though I was super excited to see the film, I kept my expectations very low. I've been very disappointed in the past when I've gone to see a film with too high expectations. This totally blew me away though.

  5. I loved, loved, loved it. Saw it in 3d cos Husbit hasn't seen anything in 3d yet and I enjoyed it a lot because it didn't need to be in 3d (I've found other films make too much out of being in 3d and kind of ignore the story and the cinematograaphy in favour of "hey look, it's 3d!!") but the 3d made it feel more immediate. It was very funny, in places moving and I loved the mix of superheroes. Even Captain America didn't irritate me too much.

  6. I just got out of the movie an hour ago! All I can say is that it was GLORIOUS! It was funny and action pack....which is all I need. Captain America didn't wow me in his original movie, but in The Avengers, OMG, he stole my heart. And that Stan Lee cameo was...so perfect.

  7. I have to hang my head in shame here and confess I didn't even SEE the Captain America movie. I did see the Thor movie though and I wasn't blown away. This however, totally made me dig the fact that I saw the Thor movie somehow.

  8. Okay, since we are confessing here. I've only seen Iron Man. Everybody else....nada. Oh, I watched Captain America on an airplane, so I only saw half of it. LOL

  9. My husband tried to get me to see it in 3D but I was a good ol' stick in the mud because I wanted to make sure I wasn't carried away by the special effects. I wanted to scrutinize this film through narrowed mean eyes lol. I was thoroughly prepared to be underwhelmed by the film but am so glad I wasn't! I would happily try this in 3D now. I really hope they manage to carry this on in the following movies and you know there will be more. There were so many loose ends and I can't wait to see what they do with it all!

  10. I did love me some Iron Man! I was so impressed with the way they managed to blend all these super hero's together. I wasn't sure they could pull it off. Omg it's like we need to start ourselves like a little film group. I can see all kinds of artsy fartsy stuff out of us during our meetings lol. Even down to comparing food stuffs from different cinemas.

  11. I heard there is a place in LA where you can order fancy food while watching a movie. They even deliver it to your seat. I've never been there before, but I would love to try it out one day. LOL

  12. They had that when I lived in Seattle. I knew people who used to go every now and then and swore it's fun! I hear they're opening one in London as well. I'm not sure what kind of food they'll be serving and the potential price point of meals scares the living daylights out of me lol. If popcorn, candy, nachos and a drink can cost the same as a small mortgage at theaters now, I can't imagine what an actual meal might end up costing.

  13. This is such a great movie! I laughed all the way through it! I could have done without having Scarlet's butt in my face so much, but still it was awesome! :)
