When I was growing up my mom was always saying, "There you go again, running around like a chicken with it's head cut off." I don't even know what that means. I've just always imagined it as a very energetic, messy and directionless activity. These past few weeks have been just like that. When I saw these metal chickens at Stewarts I was immediately reminded of Beyoncé, the Big Metal Chicken courtesy of The Bloggess. I'm fully convinced these little guys are her distant English cousins.
Since it's been a crazy week of stuff, I thought I'd give everyone the condensed version to catch everyone up.
Where I ate:
Flirt! Pesto Chicken
Flirt! Salsa Chicken
I love Flirt! It's super delicious, allows really large portions which is a great value for your money, and has a fun, high-energy, eclectic atmosphere.
Cafe Boscanova's East Ender Breakfast
Cafe Boscanova is my #1 breakfast spot ever since I first discovered it here.
Products I'm obsessing over:
A Game of Thrones: The Card Game
Alright, alright it's nerdy of me. Agreed. But I'm addicted to this show! I'm afraid to pick up the books simply because I know I won't be able to put it down and my life just doesn't allow for that right now. The idea that there's a card game with tons of brilliant reviews??? I'm hooked.
Nespresso CitiZ and Milk by Magimix M190 Coffee Machine, Limousine Black

It's an espresso machine that's dishwasher safe. Need I say more?
Alright - I need to take a break and I'm sure you're tired of scrolling so I'll put up some more later!
Hi there!:)
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, consider yourself lucky for never having seen a headless chicken. It's not pretty and will scar you for life! Trust me, I know!
I'm also a big Game of Thrones fan. My boyfriend introduced me to the books and I've been hooked ever since (isn't it great when boyfriends hook you on good things such as books, instead of cocaine? He's a keeper!). I also love the show! So, so good. Really is what we I have imagined while reading the books. I really urge you to read them. George R.R. Martin is a genius (fortunately I read the books in its original version in English) and you're missing out by not reading his books.
Love,

ReplyDeleteMy bff is obsessed with Game of Thrones and keeps trying to get me to watch/read. I won't do it, though, because I know I don't have enough time to commit to an obsession right now, lol
ReplyDeleteThe books are brilliant.
ReplyDeleteBosconova is amazing.
Were there any stone sculptures at the Stewarts you went to? My Dad's showing some of his work as part of Dorset Art Weeks at one of the Stewarts in the area but I can't remember which one.
Have investigated and think it may be the Wimborne branch.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely at the Broomhill location. I was considering going out that way just to see the Dorset Art Week! I'll let you know if I make it.
ReplyDeleteI won't tell a lie. I was sick when I first started watching the show. I only started watching the show because my husband has started reading the books and is hooked on them. I'm terrified of picking up the books. I'm terrible about being able to read at a reasonable amount.
ReplyDeleteI really do consider myself very lucky not to have seen a headless chicken. I just imagine a cartoon figure with blood shooting out the top. My husband is responsible for introducing me to the Game of Thrones. I really want to read the books but I'm holding off till I don't have so much responsibility. I'm terrible about books. I'll pick it up and won't be able to put it down till it's finished. I'll forget to eat, I'll avoid sleep for as long as my body will allow me. It's ridiculous. I will definitely read them some day but not yet. I feel lucky that the author is so heavily involved with the show. I read somewhere that he's actually helped write some of the episodes.
ReplyDeleteMy problem is the books are so cheap. Like in paperback you can get all one billion pages (per book) for like $8. So it's combining two of my loves - reading and a good deal. I have about 20 books in queue to read still, so I know I can hold out a bit longer. Eventually they're going to get me, though.
ReplyDeleteI ended up getting tired of GoT... BUT I am totally interested in playing that card game! And whoa.... I want that espresso machine. You say its dishwasher safe? WINNER.
ReplyDeleteDo! If you're in Broadstone this week there's more at his house (shameless plug).
ReplyDeleteHave managed to see a bit more of DAW this year than last time. Think it's such a fantastic event.
Yes, I would LOVE a Nespresso machine. Here's hoping we'll get one for the wedding!
