What makes you OCD?

This book has been the focal point of my life for the past couple of weeks. With my move to the UK, I need to jump through some hoops to get a more appropriate visa. You know, so I can do things like go to the doctors office, work, and live life in general. In order to do that, I have to pass this test. There are only 24 questions on it and I need to get a 75% on it to pass. Some of the information in it is just common sense while other parts of it are random statistical madness that no UK citizen would ever know. But none of it, has anything to do, with anything FUN! Omg, it drives me crazy. Nothing has had quite a snoozifying affect on me as much as this book has recently.

I've also been pulling my hair out, looking for the charger to my camera! What on earth have I done with it? Did I leave it in America?! Ugh. C'est la vie. So I have purchased another and am waiting for it to be delivered because I have some great pic's I can't wait to get off my camera for everyone.

Did I mention a test I have to take to get a different visa? I might have. It's kind of dominating alllll of my thoughts right now. The test is this Thursday and I keep doing the practice questions in an obsessive kind of way as a way of managing my anxiety. Oi. I'd forgotten how ocd tests make me. What do you do when you have a test coming up? Do you obsess like me or just wing it? I always hated those kids in school who could wing it and still make an A.

Ciao!
P.S. Got any good test taking tips? Please share them!!! Pray for me, do a ritual to help me pass, do something - ahhhh!!!

On the move video

At long last, as promised, video of part of our moving process! During our move, we stayed in a local vacation rental while the movers packed us up and the kids finished their last week of school. I thought I'd share a bit of it with everyone. I don't know a lot about video editing with the software I have but hope you manage to enjoy it anyways. It was taken on my camera phone and it was really crazy driving down these winding gravel roads through primordial forests to get to the place. It felt very Walt Disney like. Cheers everyone!

On the move

For those who don't know, I've recently relocated my whole family to the UK. It's been an adventure and I fully intend to share all of it with you through the various video's and pictures I've been taking to try and document it all. (Fingers crossed on that. I've been terrible about carving out some time to do this.) My daughter snapped this photo of me while we were waiting in the airport. That in and of its self was an epic journey.

Previously, we lived on an island that required a ferry to get to and from the mainland. The ferries aren't something you can just ring up, and ask a lift from at a convenient time for your flight. They also frequently run late, break down, and in general can leave you high and dry and out of luck for catching a flight if you don't plan accordingly. Long story short, (or was that a short story long?) we decided to catch a ferry ridiculously early.

Once we were safely on the mainland, we breathed a sigh of relief as we sat in traffic that one of my daughters called "redonkulous". Despite the traffic, we reached the airport with ample time and unloaded our lives from our gianormous car rental into the parking garage. Wrangling all of us, with all of our luggage from the garage into the airport was a right treat as we dodged rental car return employees that apparently get bored and find the excitement in their job by doing 45 mph through pedestrians.

On the inside, airport food, lines galore, security screenings, and kid wrangling kept us entertained and fully occupied as we waited on our plane which was originally scheduled for a 6:45 p.m. departure but was delayed in London for extra safety checks after being hit by lightening.....WHY tell me that?!?! Yes, yes. I get it. It happens all the time. Perfectly normal and all that but I, DO NOT, need to know that about a plane I'm about to stick myself on for a flight out of Seattle all the way to London.

Anywho - we survived and are all in one piece. Despite the small hiccups of delays, astonishingly long toilet lines on the plane, obnoxious teenagers whose parents act oblivious as their kids use the reflective screens off hand held gadgets to shine light onto sleeping passengers faces, and airline food, it wasn't that  traumatizing a journey. I've had worse. Seriously. Much, much worse. In fact, upon reflection, I'd go so far as to say this trip was a downright pleasure cruise in comparison to some of my experiences. I love hearing about other people's interesting/bizarre/traumatizing travel stories if you'd like to share!
Cheers everyone!
