My holidays so far have included having the flu on Valentines, chased by a fecal impaction for a child, a husband in South Africa for Mothering Sunday, with a side of snow, a bad chest cold and two bouts of stomach flu for Easter break.
Needless to say, it's been a blast. And now, I feel like running away. So do the kids. So we are! We hunted down a budget flight to somewhere sunnier and warmer than here and were gettin' the heck out of dodge people. Personally, I blame Pinterest. Maybe Pinterest is evil. It is so.totes.addictive and I clearly will never earn enough money to visit all the places it tempts me with on a daily basis. See?
And this is just a small taste! Gaaaaaaah! And what's worse? It's made me want to get "vacation clothes".....Cuz that's a thing isn't it? No? Anyway's, that means I end up finding cute comfy outfits I want to add to my wardrobe to take with me on my trip.
This isn't a sponsored post in any shape or form. I think it's all the blues. It makes me think of beautiful tropical waters.
What would your perfect island vacation outfit be?

Those pictures are goooooooorgeous! I've never been on an island vacation. The closest I've gotten is Cape Cod which is not really an island, but it's close-ish? Maybe? It's pretty and I love it. I would totally get some new vacation outfit pieces. I'm buying vacation clothes myself, though mine is not to an island.
ReplyDeleteOh Rachel, I hope that everyone gets better soon! I totally want to go to Greece, but I'm not a beach and sunshine kind of person because I'm paranoid about my skin. that Chile resort looks more to my liking ;)
ReplyDeleteI too, hope everyone gets better soon. A third family member fell victim to the stomach flu, then caught a nasty head cold, passed that to me, and now that everyone's moderately healthy we're all holding our breath for our departure tomorrow. I lived in California and Florida and never considered myself a beach and sunshine type of person. That's why we moved to Seattle and eventually, the UK. It turns out, when I'm deprived of the sun for somewhere along 3-4 years non-stop and don't feel a temperature above 70 degrees, I go into some sort of weird sun/warmth withdrawal syndrome where I hallucinate about tropical islands. Go figure. We looked at going to Greece but it was just outside of budget and timing constraints. Chile is fascinating climate wise. Thanks for reminding me though, I gotta find the sunscreen.
ReplyDeleteDoes Cape Cod get warm? I think it's an island vacation spot right? I'm trying to hold out on buying vacation clothes so that if I find items on vacation I can splurge without feeling guilty. ;)
ReplyDeleteCape Cod basically is the same weather as me being in Connecticut, it's just prettier there, lol. It's technically a peninsula, but it's so different there than in mainland Massachusetts. I am going to be cranky if we don't make it back there sometime this summer.
ReplyDeleteI get moody about the lack of sunshine too, especially if the winter is unseasonably rough or long, even though I really am not a hot weather person. I do hope you all are well and having some fun! PS. I started on your case, but had to put it down because of current busy-ness :( I apologize! Hopefully after my market/show thing, I'll get to it! Happy weekend!
