The startling blue waters of the Aegean Sea, the bleached white buildings, the history, the ruins, the culture, even the handmade dolls from a small shop in Athens - all things I want to see, do, and live. How about you?
Oh Greece! It's one of my dream destinations! When I was about 12 I had to write an essay about how I imagined my life to be in 20 years. I wrote I'd be living in Santorini, Greece, with my pet pig! lol I don't think that will happen. I don't think I want it to happen anymore but I sure wanna see the place I once dreamed of living in!
well now, you are only a skip and a jump away from Greece, go for it girl! I was lucky enough to spend time on the island of Crete for a couple of summers and I can't rave about it enough.
I had a VERY similar incident! I don't remember the exact age but I remember falling in love with all the different types of harsh landscapes Greece has and being fascinated with the lifestyle of the rural sections. How appealing it was to have such a natural and simple way of living. I don't know if I could hang long term, but it does sound somewhat appealing even now.
This is definitely on my bucket list. You're so lucky to have gotten to Crete! I think I remember seeing you post about visiting once with your sister. I've always wanted to travel the world. I think it really puts into perspective how we're all the same when it really comes down to the nitty gritty. Nationality, skin color, all of those things that we squabble over as countries seem so silly once you leave the place you're born. We all bleed, we're all dependent on the same things to survive. We live on a rock, floating through space and we're really fortunate to have such bounty and beauty to appreciate while we're here.
I'm planning on it. Even if I have to take mini-trips to afford it. I've had to file some paperwork with the gov't and they have my passport but as soon as that's back in my grubby little hands - watch out ppl! muwhahahahaha
Oh, Greece! I have been obsessed with Greece since I was in elementary school, and I started getting into mythology. And today, I love it for the beautiful scenery, delicious food, and the MEN. Ahaha! I would love to actually go there someday! I certainly hope you're able to visit soon!
Oh my word, I just returned from GREECE! I was in Crete, Athens and Santorini!!! Maybe we are soul sisters...from the title and description of your blog, we might be :) I have pictures on my blog from all three places in greece if you are interested. When I saw Santorini on the cover of this post, I had to find out what it was all about! I think I took that exact picture, when we walked by it... Nice blog, happy to find you!
Greek islands are amazing. a great destination for the summer!
